Illegal Disco was born in 2013, when Ivan DeYoung-Dominguez came up with a name that Ernie Gerardo wanted for his own electronic project. So there ended up being some sort of compromise. Since then, the two listen to house music and talk about how much they like Popeye's Chicken, because despite living in different boroughs of New York, they both live about ten minutes walking distance from one.
